The Salisbury Zoo's annual Zoo Stampede 5K, sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, is set for Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo's East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club).
The race will go through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park's greenway. The course is primarily along a crushed-stone path. 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Salisbury Zoo.
Top male and female runners will receive a gift certificate for a free pair of shoes from VP Shoes. Three age group winners in each category will receive medals. The first-place winner in each age group will also receive a VP Shoes gift card.
Sign up by April 5 to guarantee a shirt. Online registration is available through April 17 at 4 p.m. for $25; race-day registration is $30 from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
