Ring in the new year in Downtown Salisbury with the 10th annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop, sponsored by Pohanka Automotive of Salisbury. Gillis Gilkerson is also supporting the event as a Gold sponsor.

This free event features live music ahead of a ball drop at midnight. The event is Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1. New Year’s Eve SBY Ball Drop is a free, all-ages, family-friendly event. Beer and wine will be available for purchase outside thanks to Mad Hatter Cafe. The Mad Hatter Cafe's food menu for the event includes spicy chicken empanadas, gochujang corn dog nuggets, honey mustard chicken bites, cinnamon sugar pretzels, caramel glazed funnel fries. Drinks for sale include water, hot chocolate, warm apple cider and soda; and for those 21+, Coors Light, Miller Lite, High Noon, Apple Cider Hot Toddy, Boozy Hot Chocolate and Champagne.

Free parking will be available in the parking garage.

Starlight Anthem, a rock/pop band from the Frederick area, is our headliner and will perform from 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Prior to that, Uprizing and bands from AMP Studio will perform for the audience.

Wear your brightest and sparkliest outfits to see if you'll be named Salisbury's Shining Star. We'll also have interactive trivia that you can play from your phone, and you can put your new year's resolution on a luminary bag to kick off the new year. Get your photos taken in the photo booth, too.

• Roadie Joe's will be open Dec. 31 from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. and plans to have football specials during the day and a special New Year's Eve menu from 5-10 p.m. There will also be live entertainment by Rastar from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
• Brew River Restaurant & Bar will host a New Year's Eve Party featuring On The Edge at 8 p.m. Dec. 31 ($20 admission). Make dinner reservations by calling 410-677-6757. DJ K Slit will also play from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
• The Brick Room will open at 4 p.m. Dec. 31 and will stay open till 2 a.m. Jan. 1 and plans to feature specials.

• Two Scoops Ice Cream & Waffles will be open from 9 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Two Scoops will have a New Year's giveaway and will be serving ice cream, waffles, coffee and a special sparkly New Year's Eve Sundae.
• Lurking Class Skate Shop will present "A New Year to Remember" on Dec. 31, featuring Party's Over, Friend Hospital, Callabeats and Unreasonable Things. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music starting at 8 p.m. $15; all ages.
• MoJo's will have DJ Nick at Nite play from 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
• Market Street Inn will be open late and have a special menu and gift card promotions.
