Find Your Voice, #LeadASAP & Make an Impact with the 2018 Make a Difference Award
Celebrating 30 years of youth changing the world, Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) activates youth to #LeadASAP through Awareness, Service, Advocacy, and Philanthropy. Through service to their community, youth gain powerful 21st century skills like empathy, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication – skills they need to be successful in school, work, and life. GYSD will be celebrated on April 20-22 in more than 100 countries, with millions of young people working together to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals and change their communities.
Ripples to Waves Poetry Slam participants between the ages of 13-19 will have the opportunity to submit a community service project idea to be done on Earth Day, April 22, 2018. The 1st place winner of the slam will win a $200 cash prize and their project selected to be the official Ripples 2 Waves #LeadASAP Community Project.
