Land Conservation For Biodiversity/2020 Legislation Mixer
December 9, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Over the course of its work, the Lower Eastern Shore Engagement Network (LESEN) has become aware of the need to find better ways of protecting both small agricultural parcels and small pockets of remaining biological diversity. The state’s land conservation programs put owners of small parcels, including many regenerative farmers, at a disadvantage. Due to structural limitations in Maryland’s land conservation programs and resource constraints on local land trusts, parcels of less than 50 acres are difficult to protect. What can we do to remedy this?
Join us for some beers and free eats as we seek solutions to small parcel land conservation, advocate for change, and look ahead to the MD 2020 legislative session.
