Figure Drawing Class (All Levels)
February 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 6:00 pm on day Third of the month, repeating indefinitely
Why Figure Drawing?
Figure Drawing is an essential foundational practice no matter what type of art you make.
Learning to draw from observation trains the eye to measure proportions, movement, and recognize the relationship between light/shadow. Drawing from life also creates energy and honesty in the artwork that cannot be simulated or replicated by any other means.
This class/workshop is intended to teach foundational practices in figure drawing and is suitable for all skill levels. Beginners are welcomed to come to learn basic foundational techniques, and more advanced participants are encouraged to use this time to work with a model as best suits their needs. Whether it’s proportion, anatomy, value, or atmosphere, the instructor will provide constructive feedback to help participants get the most out of this class.
Each session will focus on long poses, 10–15-minute poses, and proportions, use of paper/material, how to measure/scale the body, and perspective.
Cost: $20 Member, $30 Non-member
