On Saturday, February 25th, 1 Year to Empowerment will be hosting the very first “Empowerment Through the Arts” Gala at Dove Pointe! This inaugural event will bring Eastern Shore artists of all kinds together for one night, in support of 1 Year to Empowerment’s middle and high school programs! The event will be kicking off Women’s History Month, which is held nationally every March, and artwork from local artists and the middle and high school “Empowerees” will be on display. Live musical, theatrical, and movement performances will take place! The night will end with an art auction featuring highly sought-after artwork from local and regional artists.
In addition to live performances and an art gala, attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, with opportunities to browse local artisans, vendors, and arts-focused organizations. Following the cocktail hour, attendees will be able to sit back, indulge in a delicious dinner, and enjoy the show!
All proceeds from the evening will benefit 1 Year to Empowerment. Since 2015, 1 Year to Empowerment has provided a free, year-long wellness program that empowers middle and high school girls to make healthy choices, trusting friendships, and attainable goals.
